What is AVETMISS compliant software?
AVETMISS compliant software is a student management system that can export the ten NAT files defined in AVETMISS Release 8.0 in the correct format, which NCVER treats as the minimum compliance requirement. Every Registered Training Organisation must report Total VET activity to NCVER at least annually. Compliance is declared by vendors, so validate your files in NCVER's free AVETMISS Validation Software before submitting.
Is RTO Grow a student management system or an LMS?
Both. RTO Grow is a student management system (SMS) and learning management system (LMS) in one platform. Enrolment, delivery, assessment and reporting share the same data, so you don't reconcile a separate LMS with your SMS. The LMS covers assessment authoring, learner guides, a student portal and SCORM 1.2 delivery, built around units of competency.
How does RTO Grow compare with aXcelerate, VETtrak, eSkilled and RTOPilot?
RTO Grow is an SMS and LMS for new to mid-size Registered Training Organisations, with published pricing from AUD 99 a month. aXcelerate, eSkilled and RTOPilot also combine SMS and LMS, while VETtrak is an SMS with a separate ReadyTech LMS. aXcelerate and VETtrak quote on request. How much does an SMS and LMS for a Registered Training Organisation cost in Australia?
RTO Grow is priced by the students you enrol in a year and the LMS units you use. Lite is AUD 99 a month (up to 50 students, 5 LMS units). Starter is AUD 499 (200 students), Launch AUD 599 (500), Grow AUD 1,200 (2,000), Scale AUD 2,500 (6,000) and Enterprise from AUD 5,000 (20,000). AVETMISS reporting is included on every plan. RTOPilot charges a 2% booking fee capped at $5 per enrolment. aXcelerate and VETtrak quote on request.
Does RTO Grow have lock-in contracts?
Plans run on a 12-month agreement, billed yearly up front or monthly in advance, and renew annually unless either side gives 30 days notice. There are no exit fees, and you can export everything at any time. Price reviews are capped at 5% a year and named on day one. Storage, staff seats and faults are never charged for.
Can I migrate from another student management system?
Yes. RTO Grow has migrated Registered Training Organisations from spreadsheets, Access databases, aXcelerate, Wisenet and VETtrak. Import tools and your onboarding hours cover a normal move on Starter, Launch and Grow. Done-for-you migration is AUD 2,000, and included from Scale on a 12-month term. Email a sample export and it will be scoped before you commit.

AVETMISS compliant software for Registered Training Organisations
AVETMISS compliant software is a student management system that can export the ten NAT files defined in AVETMISS Release 8.0 in the correct format. Release 8.0 applies to all training activity from 1 January 2018 (NCVER), and every Registered Training Organisation must report its Total VET activity to NCVER at least annually (ASQA).
One thing to know before you buy: compliance is declared by vendors. NCVER’s AVETMISS Compliant Software Register is vendor-supplied and optional, and NCVER says it is not an endorsement. NCVER also notes that a compliant system produces correctly formatted files but may not check all of your data values, so you should validate in its free AVETMISS Validation Software.
