Expertle is a gamified interactive course builder for Australian VET training content. 27,000+ units of competency pre-loaded from training.gov.au. 12+ interactive game types. Real-time compliance scoring against unit performance criteria. SCORM 1.2 export for any LMS. Built for RTOs and trainers who want training content students actually complete — and a marketplace to sell courses commercially if that's the business model.

Most VET training content is PDFs and videos. Students open the PDF, scroll to the bottom, tick the completion box. Watch the video at 2x speed with another tab open. Complete the knowledge check by clicking every answer until one sticks. The content is technically delivered. No learning actually happens.

Gamified learning is the obvious fix, but most gamification platforms weren't built for VET. They use generic quiz formats and generic badge systems that don't map to unit of competency requirements. They export to SCORM but the SCORM doesn't carry the assessment data RTOs need. They're built for corporate L&D, not Australian nationally recognised training.

Expertle is built for VET. The content types map to the performance criteria inside units of competency. The compliance scoring checks alignment with the training package — not just engagement metrics. The SCORM export carries assessment data through to the LMS. The marketplace allows RTOs and trainers to sell courses they build, either branded as Expertle (free tier) or fully branded as their own content ($597 per course Private Course tier).

## 12+ game types mapped to VET performance criteria

Expertle's interactive content types aren't generic quiz formats. Each one is designed around the practical skills and knowledge assessment patterns that VET performance criteria actually test:

**Hazard Spotter** — identify hazards in a scene. Maps to WHS units where learners must recognise workplace hazards. Used for Certificate III in Individual Support, White Card, construction safety, aged care safety.

**Priority Sim** — rank items by priority under time pressure. Maps to decision-making performance criteria across aged care, community services, and emergency response units.

**Risk Matrix** — assess risks on a likelihood/consequence grid. Standard in WHS units and risk management components across multiple industries.

**Scenario Builder** — multi-step decision scenarios where choices affect outcomes. Works for community services case management, aged care care planning, hospitality service recovery.

**Timeline Builder** — sequence events in correct order. Maps to procedural performance criteria where the order matters — food safety procedures, clinical protocols, emergency response sequences.

**Gear Check** — select correct PPE or equipment for a scenario. Maps to WHS and trade unit performance criteria requiring equipment selection competency.

**Emergency Triage** — assess and prioritise multiple patients/situations. Maps to first aid, aged care, and healthcare units.

**Spot the Difference** — compare correct versus incorrect procedures. Maps to quality assurance units, compliance training, and procedural accuracy requirements.

**Walk-Through** — step-by-step procedure demonstration. Maps to any procedural unit where learners must demonstrate understanding of sequential steps.

**Who Do You Call** — identify correct reporting chains and escalation paths. Maps to organisational procedures across all industries.

**What Happens Next** — predict consequences of actions. Maps to critical thinking and decision-making across units.

**Drag and Drop** — classification, categorisation, and matching activities. Base format adapted across multiple performance criteria.

More game types ship regularly. Each one exists because an actual performance criterion needed it, not because a product manager thought it would be "fun."

## 27,000+ units of competency from training.gov.au

The unit of competency library is pre-loaded from training.gov.au — the national register. Every nationally recognised qualification, every unit of competency, every training package. When you build a course, you select the units from the live training.gov.au data, so unit codes, titles, and performance criteria match exactly.

This matters because RTOs can't issue qualifications based on "close enough" unit mapping. The nationally recognised training product has to match the training package specification exactly. Expertle's data layer enforces this at the source.

## Real-time compliance scoring

As a course is built, Expertle scores compliance against the unit performance criteria. Red for missing required elements. Amber for partial coverage. Green for complete mapping. A compliance manager reviewing a course build can see at a glance which performance criteria are addressed and which aren't — without manually cross-referencing training.gov.au for every unit.

## SCORM 1.2 export for any LMS

SCORM 1.2 export means the course runs in any LMS: Moodle, Canvas, aXcelerate LMS, eSkilled LMS, Wisenet, RTOGrow's LMS integration, TalentLMS, LearnDash, Articulate 360's review system. SCORM carries the completion data and assessment results through to the LMS, which then feeds the SMS for AVETMISS reporting.

The free tier exports Expertle-branded SCORM. The $597 Private Course tier exports fully branded SCORM with no Expertle markings — suitable for selling the course on your own LMS, to other RTOs, or on your own marketplace.

## Branded eBook and assessment pack export

Course content also exports as a branded eBook (PDF) for students who want a companion reference document, and as an assessment pack (PDF) with the assessment questions and marking guide separated for assessor use. Both exports carry your branding on the Private Course tier.

## Built-in marketplace with Stripe

Expertle includes a marketplace where courses can be sold commercially. Free tier courses share a 50/50 revenue split with Expertle. Private Course tier courses ($597 one-time per course) sell with 0% commission — you keep 100% of sales — and can be sold anywhere, not just on the Expertle marketplace. Stripe handles payments.

This turns expertise into a product. Trainers with deep knowledge in a narrow area can build and sell courses without running an RTO. RTOs can monetise their existing training content beyond their own student pipeline. Industry specialists can package knowledge as commercial training content.

## The honest claim boundary

**Expertle is structured to national competency frameworks. It is NOT nationally accredited training.**

This matters and needs to be said clearly. Only RTOs registered with ASQA can issue nationally recognised qualifications under the AQF. Expertle courses built by non-RTO creators produce competency-aligned content that teaches to the performance criteria, but they don't carry AQF qualification status.

What this means in practice: an RTO can use Expertle to build course content that delivers against units of competency, then issue the AQF qualification through the RTO's registered scope. A trainer without an RTO can use Expertle to build and sell commercial training content that teaches VET-aligned knowledge and skills — but the certificate issued is a course completion certificate from the trainer, not an AQF qualification.

Both use cases are legitimate. The distinction matters for compliance and for clear communication with students about what they're purchasing.

## Pricing

**Free tier** — $0. 1 course. Expertle-branded SCORM export. 50/50 revenue split on marketplace sales.

**Private Course tier** — $597 per course, one-time. Fully branded SCORM (your branding, no Expertle markings). Sell anywhere — your LMS, your marketplace, third-party RTOs, Udemy, Teachable, anywhere that accepts SCORM. 0% commission. Pricing per course, so you only pay for what you publish.

## Who Expertle is for

RTOs wanting to build interactive course content that students actually complete. RTOs with existing content in PDFs and videos looking to convert to engaging formats. Trainers with deep expertise in a narrow VET area wanting to build and sell commercial training products. Industry specialists with knowledge worth packaging — WHS consultants, aged care educators, hospitality trainers, construction industry experts. Subject matter experts who want to monetise expertise without running an RTO.

## Who Expertle is not for

Organisations needing nationally accredited training that can only be issued by an RTO — build the content in Expertle, but issue qualifications through a registered RTO. Corporate L&D teams building internal compliance training for non-VET purposes — Expertle is VET-specialised; generic L&D tools serve broader use cases. Content needing proctored assessment or webcam authentication at scale — some competitors focus there; Expertle focuses on content building and delivery.

## How Expertle fits the ecosystem

Expertle builds the interactive course content. The SCORM export integrates with any LMS. If you run RTOGrow SMS, the SCORM completion data flows through for AVETMISS reporting. If you run Easy RTO for your website, course content built in Expertle can be embedded or sold through the website. The marketplace handles the monetisation layer.

Separately from the ecosystem, Expertle stands on its own for trainers and industry specialists who aren't running RTOs but have expertise worth packaging.

FAQ

Common questions

No — and this is important to understand clearly. Only RTOs registered with ASQA can issue nationally recognised qualifications under the Australian Qualifications Framework. Expertle is structured to VET performance criteria and creates competency-aligned content, but non-RTO creators produce course completion certificates, not AQF qualifications. RTOs use Expertle to build content, then issue AQF qualifications through their registered scope.

Expertle exports courses as SCORM 1.2 packages compatible with any LMS — Moodle, Canvas, aXcelerate LMS, eSkilled, Wisenet, TalentLMS, LearnDash, Articulate 360 review, and any other SCORM-compliant system. The SCORM package carries completion data and assessment results through to the LMS, which then feeds the SMS for reporting purposes.

Free tier is $0 forever, allows 1 course, SCORM exports carry Expertle branding, and marketplace sales split 50/50 with Expertle. Private Course tier is $597 one-time per course, SCORM exports are fully branded as your content with no Expertle markings, sells on any platform with 0% commission. Build free to test the platform, upgrade per-course when ready to sell commercially.

Yes — Private Course tier courses ($597 each) export as fully branded SCORM that runs anywhere that accepts SCORM. Udemy accepts SCORM in some programs, Teachable supports it, your own LMS certainly does. The 0% commission applies only to courses built on the Private Course tier. Free tier courses are restricted to the Expertle marketplace.

Yes. Courses built in Expertle export SCORM which plugs into the LMS layer that RTOGrow SMS students access. Completion data and assessment results flow through for AVETMISS reporting. The integration makes sense when an RTO uses both products — Expertle for content, RTOGrow for student management — but each product works independently if you only need one.

This is a common and legitimate use case. Industry specialists, trainers, and subject matter experts build commercial training products that teach VET performance criteria without issuing AQF qualifications. Students receive a course completion certificate from the creator, not an AQF qualification. Marketing the course is regulated under general consumer protection — not ASQA marketing compliance — since the content isn't claiming nationally recognised training status.

As you build a course, Expertle compares the content against the performance criteria of the units selected. Red flags for missing required elements. Amber for partial coverage. Green for complete mapping. For RTOs, this replaces the manual cross-referencing against training.gov.au that compliance managers currently do. For non-RTO trainers, it ensures content genuinely aligns with VET competency frameworks rather than just marketing as "VET-aligned."

RTOs can use Expertle to build the course content for a Certificate III qualification, then issue the AQF qualification through their registered scope on ASQA. Non-RTOs cannot — the issuance of AQF qualifications is legally restricted to registered training organisations. Expertle supports the content build for either use case; the accreditation layer is handled by the RTO structure itself, not by Expertle.
